My Favorite Hair Products

Hello girls, I want to first let you know that I have been a true "product junkie" for these last 9 months! I went out and bought new hair products every week because I was looking for that perfect product that would give me shiny, soft, defined, and moisturized curls everyday! I soon realized that this is a pretty tall order when it comes to natural hair. It is easy to find one that can do 3/4. I have found some that come close. As my hair grew out, an important factor also, was that I wanted it to last more than one day. Meaning, I didn't want to have to get up and wash or wet my hair again for it to have the same look as it did on day 1. Now when I tell y'all that I've tried everything, I am not exaggerating! Some products almost made the cut, except they dried my hair out after a day or two. Most times this was because they contained certain silicones, sulfates, and/or mineral oil, and petroleum. These ingredients are no no's for many naturally curly sistahs!!! Especially if you follow the Curly Girl Method, or CG method. The CG method is when you wash your hair with conditioners only. But conditioners are not very effective at removing certain silicones, or mineral oil, and petroleum. They are better to use than most shampoos, because most shampoos contain sulfates that strip the healthy oils from your hair! You can learn more about this by watching one of my favorite YouTubers, MahoganyCurls. She has a few videos demonstrating and discussing cowashing. You can find her videos on the lower right of this screen.
