I Love Twist-Outs!

Ok so "wash n go's" are still my favorite, but "twists/twistouts" are a close runner up! To do this style, I washed my hair and then applied my GVP Paul Mitchell-The Conditioner throughout my hair. I then sectioned off my hair and applied Eco Styler gel (Olive oil kind) to a small section, brushed it through with my Denman brush, and twisted until I reached the ends. I then twirled the ends around my finger (this keeps the twists from unraveling). I do this to the entire head, and then let it air dry. I wear them for a about a week, and then gently untwist them...and voila...a "twist out!"

  2. Carla! Dang! I am so jealous! I wish my twistouts would look so lush and beautiful as yours! And I love that henna, I can see a nice rich brown tint! It is beautiful! I am hating my hair right now, it is in the ugly in between stage, i have natural bangs too, and do not like them at all! Uggh! And I feel my wash n gos been sucking lately! How do you wear them without it getting flat, mine always get flat in the morning.

  3. Thanks guys! MC you know I am fast approaching the "ugly" stage. I plan to just do a lot of twist styles. I saw your twists on YT and they were SO cute! So you could wear those until it grows out some. And your wash n gos are the best I've ever seen..bangs and all. (And Im not just saying that). Is the rewetting in the morning not working anymore? And have you ever tried blowdrying the roots with a blowdryer. I do that sometimes with my next day wash n gos to give them volume and movement. HTH!

  4. I have question while you ladies are talking about twists and all.. I've been natural 6 months and I straighten my hair for the first time last saturday and it's amazing how much it has grown.(it's really healthy too) I had been hearing that once I straightened my hair, my curl pattern would change or I would lose most of my curls afterwards. I washed my hair and the only thing that has changed is that my curls are more loose now. Should I expect a huge change in my curl pattern or was that a fluke and I was scared to death for nothing??? :) Another question... when I twist my hair... the back and the sides will twist PERFECT but the top to the front...no good. The twist are sticking straight up and I can never get the front to lay flat..any suggestions? am I doing something wrong?
